Disney Project Week

Dan and I have decided to take Courtney to Disney World next summer! She is the perfect age to go: she'll be done with naps, won't need a stroller, LOVES everything Disney princess, loves all movies (and is watching a new one all the time) and will think everything is super magical! Ryan, on the other hand...will not be going but 1) won't remember and 2) if he gets mad when he's older, we'll lie and said he went and then ask him if he remembers.  So, I've been doing a lot of research each night after the kids go to bed. Thanks to pinterest, I was already getting excited about fun things like the countdown, autograph books and cute clothes. With summer, comes lots of time on my hands, so I decided to get started! Here are all the things I've made over the past few days! My friend Shana is going to Disney next week and asked me to help her with a few things for her trip, so I included them too!
I was SO excited when this came in the mail this week! Perfect timing.  Courtney saw that it was a movie and wanted to watch. She got a little bored and kept asking when the "movie" was going to start. She was expecting a Disney movie...instead it was a literal Disney movie. Too bad.

This was my first time appliquing anything. I was a little proud of myself.
Another first for me: a pillowcase dress!

This project is for Shana. She is having her kids do a scavenger hunt as the reveal for their trip. The clues are numbered 1-11.

Clues on the back.

My neighbor Jennifer had a TON of leftover scrap stuff from their Disney trip a few years ago. This is part of it that she let me have. So much fun to be had!

My Disney journal.  I got this journal for 50 cents at Micheals and embellished it as something fun to keep my lists in. I am a little "old fashioned" I guess and like to make a list on paper. For every vacation we've done the past few years, I do make lots of spreadsheets and documents, but nothing beats my pencil and paper list.

Rosette Minnies!

Autograph books for Shana. One for Jax, one for Isabel.  There are 10 pages for all those characters they are going to meet!

So, the vaca is a year away and I am already getting started. I can't imagine the amount of unnecessary crafting I'll be doing over the next year, but it's super fun for me and all in the name of making memories and magic for my family!

Powel Gardens with my girl!

Courtney and I went to Powel Gardens for a girls day. Their exhibit this summer is "Fairy Houses and Forts". It was really cute! Courtney liked spotting all the houses and forts and crawling through them. It was a fun day with just me and my girl!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! A few weeks ago, we were at my parents farm and I got some great pictures of Courtney and Dan playing. I love the looks on Courtney's face. It is the exact way she feels about her daddy! She knows her daddy is fun, strong and will always protect her.

For mother's day, Dan gave me a weekend of favorite things: favorite restaurants, snacks, places, etc. I LOVED it! So, I gave him the same thing. We had three different days that were "themed".  Each morning, Courtney brought in a little booklet with that day's events/fun things. Most of them were food oriented, but that's how we are! He said he loved it and I know he had a great weekend being a daddy to TWO kids!

Three Months Old!!

The biggest thing that happened between months two and three was that Ryan started smiling  A LOT! He loves to smile and coo and sometimes even laugh! He took the cutest 3 month pictures and smiled for most of them!  Ryan had a lot of firsts this month, but mostly first visits to all our favorite places!
Cousins! Rebekah (4 months), Reese (2)
First trip to the zoo with mommy!

First time in the pool...for about 2 minutes. The pool water isn't quite bathtub temperature yet!

First time at Kaleidoscope!

Enjoying some porch time with Meemaw Leslie.

Courtney loves to read to Ryan. It is funny that he can be a part of the the summer reading program at the library as a listener. I get sing-songy books that Courtney would know so she can read to him, too.

I thought with Courtney we didn't set her in the bumbo until 4 months, but shortly after Ryan was 2 months, we tried it and it worked! He does a decent job of holding his head up, but will only stay happy (as seen here) for a few minutes.

A visit to the farm.

Still sleeping in the basket (for naps) with the swaddle!

Ryan really loves his play mat and toys. He likes to bat and grab at things!
