4th on the Farm

I love 4th of July on the farm! This year was special because we had Ryan and because Courtney got to stay up and watch fireworks for the first time! She was SO excited for days that she got to stay up late! This must be a really big deal when you are 4.

Decorating cupcakes with meemaw!

My favorite part of 4th of July is the decorating and making fun food with my sister. It's kind of our thing. We were making the 4th of July cute WAY before Pinterest.  I made my first flag cake when I was 9 and my dad requested one every year after. I started getting creative and making flag cupcakes, mini cakes, trifles, etc.  The only problem was that this year I didn't take pictures of any of the cuteness except for these yummy pulled pork baskets.

Courtney went with papa to pick out fireworks.   I love the tiny shopping cart!

The annual porch pic.

Mantis.

Quite the poser these days.

Aunt Deanna helped Courtney do all her fireworks before dark - smoke bombs, bees,  fountains, ladybugs,  giant sparklers, etc. She loved it!

Courtney loved the fireworks but HATES the anticipation of loud noises. She literally walked around from 9-10 with her fingers in her ears!

Helping meemaw feeds the bottle calves.

Bible school

This year for VBS, Courtney only went for 2 nights, but she loved it! The theme was Jack and Jenn and they were solving a mystery. Of course, her fave parts were snacks and crafts (just like her momma).

The 4 and 5 year olds.

Mrs. Cindy showing off the spy game!

Kids in huge clothes are adorable.

Making super hero capes!

June Water Day

June water day was so fun for all these water babies! There were 18 kids that came from 9 mos - 7 years! The biggest hit was the water blob! I expected it to last 5 minutes, but it actually held up and I plan to use it again next week at July water day! We had lots of different stations: ice painting, bubbles, kid in a bubble (that didn't work), pools, ice treasures, water blob, slip and slide and water guns! It was a super hot day, but no one seemed to mind!

Four Months Old!

Last Saturday, July 14, Ryan turned 4 months old! His biggest new fun thing this month was TONS of smiles! We feel like he knows the word "smile" and will smile when you ask him too - most of the time! He also started rolling from back to tummy...but then gets a little frustrated to be on his tummy. He likes tummy time when we just put him there, though. At his 4 month appointment he weighed 14 lbs, 6 oz(35 percentile) and was 24 inches long (14 percentile). We think he looks like a little fat boy since Courtney never had the rolls he does. I love it! Also this month he celebrated his first 4th of July, first overnight trip to meemaw Frances and papa Gaylon's farm, his second trip to the zoo and more trips to the pool - which he loves! He is still sleeping great through the night. His napping is a little more inconsistent. He takes 3 naps a day, but the length and level of "being left alone in his bed" level varies :) Our motto has been "this is the last summer it will be hard". And by hard, we know that there are hard things about every stage and year of life, but baby hard is different that toddler hard!
