Summer: Week 8

This is Dan's last week before he goes back to school. It's so cool we get to be together all summer!
I was super excited to make these since they are gluten free! Yum!
Our first time making homemade pickles was a success! I assumed I would "can" them but I used a super simple refrigerator method instead. If we get a bumper crop I'll try a different way!
Thinking Thursday happened about one time this summer because every Thursday Courtney had Creative Kids Camp where she got together with 8 other kids to learn and play with a different theme each week. This week was our last week and it was a movie day!
The kids decorated cars to "drive in" to their movie!
She passed her drivers test!
Buying snacks from the concession stand.
Awards!

Summer Week 7: family church camp via Instagram

Earlier in the year Dan asked me what I thought about going to reunion this summer. Thinking about Ryan I told him I thought we should just just go up for the Sunday service (and Sunday food). I then said well, maybe we can go a couple of days. That turned into Coirtney staying all week with my mom. She had an amazing time helping my mom with the laundry, swimming, going to class, making tons of new friends and staying in the cabin. What a lucky little girl.

Summer: week 6

Pool time with these fun girls!

Wednesday night trip to the plaza for meemaw Leslie's birthday! We ate at Coal Vines (yummy gluten free pizza andCaesar   salad!) Then Cheesecake Factory for dessert!
Courtney's happy if she has pennies to throw in fountains!
Courtney and I had a little girls might Friday night. Dan was gone. Ryan was in bed. So we popped popcorn, painted nails and read an entire Magic Treehouse book cover to cover. That girl is hooked on this series! She spent a morning helping me in my new classroom and all she did the whole time was look through all my chapter books! Last Tuesday we brought the first ten home and we are halfway done with those!

Children's Camp

My friend Jessica directed Children's Camp at camp Doniphan this year and I went to help with the program staff. There were a few of us who did this job. Man, we worked liked dogs, but it was an awesome time! There were 76 campers and about 25 staff and there were 24 campers and staff from Liberty St! Amazing! I taught the cooking class on Saturday, served all the meals, helped with the big event on Saturday night and did other general odd jobs that needed done. Loved it!

Edible campfires!
Trail Mix Bars
Obstacle Course for the night activity!
