I love life from the perspective of a two year old

1. Tonight we were on a walk and Courtney looks up in the sky and spots the moon. She says, "Mommy, there's the moon. The moon is broken, mommy (it's a half moon). We need to fix the moon."

2. Courtney has lots of conversations with herself and her toys. She talks to them how she hears adults talk to her. She changes voices for herself and whatever she is talking to (I think it's genius). Yesterday as she was standing in her crib at bedtime, she was "hi" to things. "Hi kitty. Mommy say hi to the kitty" (Hi kitty). "Hi penguin. Mommy say hi to the penguin". (Hi penguin)"Hi me. I'm Courtney. Oh, you're Courtney. ( in her high "other person" voice) Hi Courtney. Mommy say hi to Courtney". Funny!

3. Last Sunday we went to World Conference and were in a row with my whole family. Courts did a great job of staying occupied and quiet and one of the ways was giving her snacks to different family members. She gave one to my dad. "Here you go papa" (He took it and ate it). She then asked rather loudly, "Are you gonna say thank you?" That is one our whole family will remember for awhile.

4. We are transitioning Courtney's room into a "big girl room" and one of the first things I added was a reading tent. It hangs from the ceiling and has a big pillow she can sit on to read in. The first time she sat in it, I asked her if she liked it and in a dramatic voice she replied, "Woooowww. This is so neat."

5. Over the past few weeks since the weather is much nicer (aka not freezing) we have been outside a lot and Courtney's babysitter is taking the kids outside there too. We got a report that Courts wasn't listening too well and would run towards the street or around the house. This is annoying/frustrating with ONE kid, so we knew it was hard with 4 others at the babysitter. So, we started really reinforcing it at home and talking to her about it as much as we could. I guess we did too good of a job, because when she runs away at home or has to go in time out and get "talked to" about it, we say, "You have to listen to mommy and daddy". To which she replies, "No, listen to Tina". So, I guess we will start telling her to listen to mommy, daddy, AND Tina. We'll see how that goes:)

Babysitter Friends!

Last weekend we went to a birthday party for Mallory, one of Courtney's friends at the babysitter. It was my first opportunity to ever get pictures of her friends at Tina's. They are such a cute group of kids!!

Preparty Courtney.

I'm sure they always eat this nicely during the week.

Easter, Class Reunion and Palm Sunday

Happy Easter! Here are our pics from today, this week coloring eggs, pre-class reunion brunch, Easter egg hunt at the Stewartsville park, and Easter at my mom's house.
How big does my baby girl look here??!!!!

Playing catch!
Courtney showing us all her eggs! She got all of them herself:) Every year, we have Courtney take a picture with this bunny, who's name is apparently Alice. Courtney loves her:)

Courtney's Easter basket with books, carrot baseball, treats and a magnetic fishing game.

Our fam. I look fat, but Courts is smiling. I'll take it.

Courtney's 2nd cousin ( I think) at the Stewartsville Easter egg hunt.

This year's egg hunt at the park was WAY BETTER. Courts got 1 egg last year and at least 10 this year:)

This year was my 10 year high school reunion. Some of my girlfriends got together with our kids that morning for brunch (Thanks Mindi, it was delicious)!

Courtney with Kayleigh.

Playing with Kylie.

Coloring Easter eggs. Courts wore these cute ears the whole time.

For Palm Sunday at our church, all the kids brought forward palm branches, waved them and sang songs. My daughter likes to run away, but she stood on stage for a few seconds...which we got a few seconds of video of. Sorry the video turns on its side halfway through!

Look at all our kids! We are blessed to have SO many awesome kids and parents at Liberty St.

Spring Break

We had a very fun spring break! It started off chilly, then got VERY warm, and as I type there is 10ish inches of snow on the ground. YUCK! But, it's supposed to be back up to 60 by Wednesday and I am hoping to get some seeds in our new garden by then!

We went to Stewartsville a few days of the break for a little St. Patty's Day fun with my sister and Patrick and got to play outside. Courtney was a little scared of the cows, but liked the baby calves. She LOVED watching my dad on the tractor!
Courtney helped my mom dye Easter eggs.

We got to see a live bagpipe "band". Very festive!
Dan - also being festive.

Yeah for playing outside - finally!

Looking at the cows with pappa.

Trying to see the shy baby calf.

At the zoo!

Friday was my birthday and it was excellent! Here is Courtney dancing to one of my musical cards!

The card that she made for me! Kaitlynn turned two this weekend and we went to her Elmo Party (in the snow). Courtney and her did NOT plan their outfits, they just happened to look identical!

This big girl made no mess when she ate her cake!

Birthday Party!

Courtney's birthday party on Saturday was so fun! It was super fun for me to decorate and prepare for! All the little girls wore tutu's and that could have been decoration enough! I put lots of pics on Facebook since that is a lot quicker to do, but here are some highlights!

Displaying all the tutu "best friend pics" that Courtney had taken with Ashley and Kaitlynn!
The "two" themed food included two on baguettes, not two hot salsa and chips, vegetwobles, fruit on twoothpicks, twooty fruity lemonade, two layer cake and (above) tworkey sandwiches! I LOVE A THEME!
Baby Aubrey was a big hit! Courts was merely "breathing" on the cake, but finally gave one big blow to get the candles out!

For some reason, this little girl in her tutu (what look like) long lanky legs and tennis shoes make her look all grown up (like 4). But it's a sweet picture!
Going in for hugs!
thanks to all our friends and family who came and celebrated with Courtney! She (and we) love you all!
