Disney on Ice

Courtney and Dan went to Disney on Ice last night with our friends Doug and Ginelle. They had some extra tickets that they offered us and I was excited we didn't have plans!

Courtney just got a new Brave dress that she wore. Dan said the show was really cool and I'm excited to take her next year!

Preschool Easter Egg Hunt

Courtney had an Easter egg hunt at preschool! It was on the football field so there was lots of room to run! Thanks to Jody for taking pictures! It's fun that she teaches where Courtney goes to preschool so she can pop in to say hi and take pictures for me :) I love the line of all the kids waiting to hunt!

Ryan's First Birthday Party

My sweet baby boy is ONE! Before he was born, I pinned this adorable picture of a newborn in a sock monkey hat and I knew that was going to be his party theme. I'm just a little bit crazy about parties, themes and planning. It's a hobby. I LOVED the way this party turned out! It was so fun to see Ryan have a fun time with all his family and friends!

Cake table

This sock monkey was made by my grandma Anna in the 1950's for my mom as a Christmas present.  I have always loved sock monkeys and my mom made Courtney a custom sock monkey and quilt when she was born :)
Take home candy bar!

Ryan's month by month birthday banner. I am SO glad we did this. Was it a bit nuts every month? Yes. Was it sometimes impossible to get just ONE good picture of him not crawling away. Yes. Was it totally worth it? Absolutely!  Here is a link to my "how to" get the shot of a wiggly baby :)

My cute birthday boy!
Sock monkey puppet craft (if it's a Dana party, there has to be a craft)!

I kept seeing this sock monkey fabric at Hobby Lobby, but didn't have a plan for it. Luckily, I thought up this bib and whipped it up on a snow day! I also made this hat with a very small amount of the actual sock monkey brown material my mom had left over from a quilt.

Apparently my dad REALLY loved making a puppet!
Food: we had ham/turkey/cheese sandwiches (rolls are in the Radio Flyer wagon), bananas, monkey bread, chi(m)ps,  and banana pudding with Nila wafers. I made up that "chi(m)ps" thing all on my own!

Ryan got to eat most of his party food too!

I got this good idea from a blog. Cut out or print any paper for your water bottles. Cover them with a long piece of packing tape and then the paper doesn't get soggy and you don't have to use adhesive on the paper!
I really hope I get to use this banner in the future at a pirate party or maybe a cowboy birthday! I loved all the polka dots :)

He dug right in!!
This was HILLARIOUS! He kept eating it without hands. He probably dug into it face first 6 or 8 times!
What?

Thanks to my bestie Lyda for getting all these cute smiles out of him!
And like the rest of his meals eaten in this chair...most of the cake ended up next to him. He kept trying to lick up and swipe all that icing. Even as we were taking off the tray!
Presents! He was *sort of* into it.
I think Ryan made out pretty well!
Love that cute tie!

I love our little family!
